hey can anyone help me i have latest photoshop and i was wondering if i could make an image into text. not ascii art but i was kinda looking to use the actual colours in the image so its fairly highly detailed p.s im quite good with photoshop so dont be afraid to go all technical.

Write some bold text on a layer, open the picture you want to use, drag the picture over to the text layer, above the text.
In the layer pane to the right, position your cursor between the two layers, hold down [Alt] (cursor changes) and click.

Not sure if I am answering the correct question. But I believe you are talking about masking. There are many tutorials on the web for that. Here is a link to one of them.
