Aahh! Photoshop is soooo confusing! Can you help me?

Ok, so I want to make a banner for my page on imeem.com that looks sort of like this one:

How would I do something like that on photoshop elements 6.0? Or do I need to get a different version of photoshop to do that? I only downloaded a trial so getting a different version to do that wouldn't be that big of a problem. So, thanks to anyone that helps! =D

image show id same image flip over and placed beside each other, and also edited and aligned to fit neatly, so you should be able to use the same image edit copies to use , then place in same new canvas file for one banner layout,
